Davide MARTINO is postdoctoral researcher and Wiener-Anspach Fellow at the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB), Belgium. He researches and teaches environmental and water histories of the early modern world, and is also interested in the history of science and technology as well as innovative methodologies for the environmental humanities. A former Postdoc in the Department of Architectural History and Preservation at the Universität Bern, Switzerland, Martino is a PhD graduate from St John’s College, University of Cambridge, where he completed his dissertation on Hydraulic philosophy in early modern European cities in 2023. Prior to starting his PhD he worked as a primary school teacher, and remains passionate about the role of education in society.
